Sukriti

Sukriti Social Foundation is a Chennai based cross disability organisation working in the areas of prevention, rehabilitation, training, empowerment and advocacy. As a prevention initiative, Sukriti gives corrective orthopedic appliance to children with limb deformity. So far more than 2,000 children have been helped and of this around 500 children have been cured. Sukriti has provided caliper, crutches, walkers, wheel chairs to 250 adults with disability. Sukriti gives skill training and also helps in setting up micro enterprises. 110 micro enterprises like cycle shops, ice cream vending, home based tailoring units have been set up. Sukriti also advocates for rights and equal opportunity and barrier free environment for persons with disability. Sukriti Social Foundation is founded by Ms Sowmya Simhan, a polio survivor.
